So Cal
so outside of what Ben said about the San Diego area. my thoughts: San Diego COUNTY has amazing parks & campgrounds, and a REALLY awesome library system we got to take advantage of. the parks are beautiful, really beautiful and clean, well kept and have great playgrounds.
we fell in love with the beaches but they are NOT dog friendly. we found ONE dog beach but were afraid to take Ellie anywhere else. the other beaches allow dogs on leashes BUT ONLY before 9am and after 6pm??
the real gem of southern California was a Santa Barbara county beach park we found earlier this week. we skipped over LA and came around the north side, staying at an RV Park in Acton to regroup and relax for a couple of nights. only to drive north of Santa Barbara, take an exit off Hwy 101, and zig-zag for 15 miles up and over hills… and land here. at a beach campground all by itself for miles, save an Amtrak line.
this place was magical. there weren’t hookups of any kind, but bathrooms and showers, and our new solar panels rocked (Facebook Live video on how)!
we had fog the first day which was pretty cool (felt like a movie set of Scotland), but not much beats the sunshine.
I’m more enchanted as we head north. we’re just south of San Jose right now and I’m loving it. more soon, but for now… this.
love you all, thanks for following along,
